Your matches, your decks, the real metagame. All on your own computer.
Sensei Top reads the logs Arena and Magic Online already write and turns them into a dashboard: every match and game, turn by turn, your record with each deck and against each archetype, and what the tournament metagame looks like next to it. Free, open source, no account.

What it shows
- Home. The last session, three things worth a look, and the win rate by week.
- Live (Arena). The match in progress, with a keep guide for the opening hand, a read of the opponent's likely hand, your remaining library and a sideboard plan between games. In ranked play it shows only what any tracker shows.
- Matches. Every match, with a report and a turn-by-turn replay of each game, and a leak finder that reads for patterns across matches.
- Decks. Each deck's record over every version, its matchups, and a guide that sets your list against the field.
- Field. The metagame from real Magic Online and paper tournament results.
- Coach. A dated report across every deck, each one measured against the last.

Download
Sensei Top runs on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit) and on 64-bit Linux. There is nothing to sign up for.
- Windows: the installer, a file ending in
.exe. It installs for your user only and never asks for administrator rights. The installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows may ask you to confirm the first time. - Linux: the AppImage, a file ending in
.AppImage. One file, no install; it updates itself in place. Tried on CachyOS; steps for Ubuntu and the Steam Deck's desktop mode are in the install guide.
The one thing to change in Arena: turn on Detailed Logs (Plugin Support) under Options → Account, then restart it. The install guide has the steps for each system, and the user guide covers every page.
What never leaves your machine
- No account, no upload. The dashboard runs on your own computer, answers only to it, and no match of yours is ever sent anywhere.
- Read-only towards both clients. It reads the log files Arena and Magic Online write and never touches anything either of them owns.
- Open source. The code is public, under the AGPL, so anyone can check both claims.
- What it does download: card data and images from Scryfall, archetype definitions and tournament results from public repositories and from mtgo.com, and TopDeck.gg's events if you add a free key of your own. Reference data in, nothing of yours out.
- A version check, once a day, against this project's releases on GitHub. It carries what any web request does and nothing about your games. A switch in Settings turns it off.
The privacy page lists every request the app makes, and what each one carries.
Written guides, on your terms
A deck guide, a match report, a matchup brief or a coaching report is written text, and the tracker gives you two ways to get it: a prompt you copy and paste into whatever assistant you already use, or a Claude key you set yourself, behind a button that says it will use that key, with the measured cost shown beside the answer. Nothing is called without the key and the press. The text comes back into the app and stays there.
What is not planned
Decisions, not gaps. Each was considered and refused.
- An overlay, or any window over the game.
- Live advice during a ranked game.
- Reading the memory of, injecting into or automating either client.
- Draft, mobile, and Arena-only formats.
- Telemetry, or an account for anything free.
The roadmap has the reasons, and what comes next.
Free software
Sensei Top is free software under the GNU Affero General Public License, version 3, and the tracker is free now and later: nothing free will ever ask you to sign up. Two paid things are planned, and neither takes anything away. At release, the Microsoft Store build is the same app, for anyone who would rather support the project that way. Later, an optional paid tier adds deeper features and a monthly allowance of written reports, and is the only thing that asks for an account.
Donate
One person maintains Sensei Top in their spare time. A donation funds that time. It unlocks nothing in the app and no early build; what it gets you is your name in the credits if you want it there, a vote on what comes next, and the option to sponsor one item on the roadmap by name.
